What an evening.
StyleEsteem founder Sonya Keshwani joined an extraordinary group of women for a virtual event hosted by the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan — and if you missed it, we're so glad you can now watch the full recording below.
The Night's Lineup
The evening opened on a high note — literally. Broadway star Mandy Gonzalez, beloved for her iconic roles in Hamilton, Wicked, and In the Heights, performed alongside fellow Broadway performers in an intimate show streamed directly into living rooms. It was the kind of moment that reminds you why community gatherings, even virtual ones, matter so much.
Expert Voices on Life During and After Treatment
Dr. Alison Estabrook and Dr. Anupama Goel brought their depth of expertise to a candid conversation about how life is affected during and after chemotherapy. Their willingness to answer audience questions in real time made for one of the most grounded, practical, and reassuring conversations we've been part of. If you or someone you love is navigating treatment, their words are worth hearing.
Style, Hair Loss, and Reclaiming Your Confidence
Sonya joined the panel to talk about something close to her heart — the role that fashion and personal style can play in helping you feel like yourself during hair loss. Because it isn't vanity. It's identity. And you deserve to feel beautiful at every stage of this journey.
A Community Showing Up for Itself
Melissa Rosen from Sharsheret rounded out the evening with resources and support for the breast cancer community, and attendees learned about the JCC's complementary care programs available to those navigating treatment and recovery.
This event was co-sponsored by the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan and Dr. Alison Estabrook, Professor of Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and endorsed by Sharsheret, The Nia Technique, and the American Cancer Society.
We are grateful to everyone who showed up, asked questions, and shared this space with us. This is exactly the kind of evening that reminds us why this community exists.
